PDE Action’s Nicole Neily Speaks at Capitol Hill Policy Roundtable on School Based Health Centers

On Monday, September 14th, Parents Defending Education Action’s Nicole Neily spoke at a policy roundtable on Capitol Hill, that was aimed at discussing the role and effects of School Based Health Centers. The event was held in part because over the summer, a bill was circulating in Congress to reauthorize School Based Health Centers, but based on our 2024 report, there were serious concerns. Ms. Neily highlighted the work Defending Education has done in this area, discussing real scenarios as shown in the report, parental rights and student safety, and what Congress can do about it. School Based Health Centers have been known to work with groups such as Planned Parenthood, to work around parental consent, and provide services to minors such as gender-affirming care. We were joined by Concerned Women for America, and The Heritage Foundation. The event was hosted by the Congressional Family Caucus.
