ENDORSEMENT: PDE Action Endorses House Resolution 531 and Senate Bill 120, the Educational Choice for Children Act

PDE Action is proud to join an extensive coalition of supporters for the Educational Choice for Children Act (ECCA). School choice is fundamentally an issue of parental rights. Parents—not the state—should be the primary decision makers when it comes to the education, care, and upbringing of their children. This includes where their children go to school. 

Introduced by Senators Bill Cassidy and Tim Scott, and Representatives Adrian Smith and Burgess Owens, ECCA would establish a federal tax credit scholarship program funded by private donations. Eligible families would receive scholarships to fund private school tuition, tutoring, and other educational needs including special education programming—at no added cost to the taxpayer. 

Polling on this issue is clear: Voters across the political spectrum overwhelmingly support policies that put parents in control of their child’s education. ECCA would do just that. 

PDE Action is proud to support ECCA and applauds Senators Cassidy and Scott, as well as Representatives Smith and Owens, for seeking new solutions to longstanding issues with the American education system.
