STATEMENT: PDE Action Supports Clean Funding Bill to End Government Shutdown

Parents Defending Education Action supports a clean continuing resolution to reopen the federal government.

“There’s absolutely no reason for Democrats to shutdown the government. They supported numerous clean CRs during the Biden administration. Why can’t they vote for another now? It’s pretty obvious that they are acting based exclusively on political calculations.

Thankfully, because schools are run at the local level, the shutdown is not having an impact on the education of our children. That said, it’s sad that the employees that are leading the necessary effort to dismantle the Department of Education and continue to perform the limited education related duties of the federal government are not being paid due to the latest political gamesmanship of the Democrats.”
